Terms
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone attending AISUM, the AI Safety Unconference, Melbourne (“the Unconference”). AISUM is run by AI Safety Australia & New Zealand (AISANZ), housed within Good Ancestors Policy Ltd (ABN 23 664 195 484). Registering or buying a ticket means you agree to these terms. Each attendee also accepts the Code of Conduct when they first sign in.
1. The event
The date, venue and program are published on the event page. Because AISUM is an unconference, most of the program is set by attendees and may change on the day.
2. Applications and registration
Attendance is by application, and we email you the outcome. Registration is open only to accepted applicants, who register on this site signed in with the email address they applied with. A ticket admits one named person and is not transferable.
3. Payment
Tickets are pay what you want, within the range shown at registration. Prices are in Australian dollars and include 10% GST. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Orders are not confirmed until payment is received; a $0 ticket is confirmed on registration.
4. Refunds and cancellations
You can cancel your ticket and receive a full refund any time up to the start of the event, from your dashboard. Requests after the event has started are considered case by case: email michael.kerrison@aisafetyanz.com.au.
If we cancel or substantially change the event, you receive a full refund.
These rules don't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Attendee directory and session leads
The attendee directory is opt-in: every attendee chooses their own visibility. If you lead a session, its title and your name may appear on the program. See our Privacy page.
6. Code of Conduct
Every attendee must accept the Code of Conduct. Breaches may result in removal from the event without refund and, at our discretion, exclusion from future events.
7. Photography
We may take general photos at the event. See our Privacy page for how to opt out.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither Good Ancestors Policy Ltd nor the organisers are liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from attendance, other than where caused by our negligence or a breach of the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Travel
You are responsible for your own travel, accommodation and visa arrangements.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms before the event and will email you about material changes.
11. Governing law
